Title: The Bromance Zone
Author(s): Lauren Blakely
Publisher: Top Notch Boyfriend Books
Rating: – DNF
Synopsis via Goodreads:
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Friends don’t bang friends.
I want my friends to stay in my life, especially that flirty, clever, outgoing best friend of mine.
It’s a damn good thing Owen and I made a pact in college to never ever sleep together, or else I’d be tempted.
Trouble is, eight years later I’ve been wondering what his kisses taste like. And I’ve been curious if our chemistry would extend into the bedroom. If he might feel the same risky pull.
But I don’t want to lose Owen, and history says there’s no way a tryst between friends can end well.
So as long as I avoid the bedroom with him, I won’t break that hard-as-steel rule.
Except the snow has other plans …
Review: I’m not really writing a review on this one because I didn’t read enough of it to competently write one.
I tried to read it, twice. I don’t know if I was just not in the mood for it, or if it was a dud. It has a fairly solid rating on GoodReads, but I could just not get into it. I reached about 35% and the friends were just starting on their roadtrip! The first 35% was just filler, and I was so terribly bored. Which, honestly? Rarely happens so I figured I’d listen to it and give up for the time being.
Perhaps this is one that I can go back to in the future and maybe like? I don’t know. The beginning just seemed to drag on and was so slow.
This is a friends to lovers, supposedly very flirty and sweet little story, but I’m going to pass on this one. I typically like Lauren Blakely, so I’m quite surprised. If you’ve read it and found it worthy, let me know. Perhaps I’ll put it back in rotation and give it another try, but there are so many other books out there that I don’t want to spend time on one that doesn’t grab me for the ride…
