Grady
A preacher’s son. I’ve done everything I can to defy his rules. Reckless, destructive, immoral. But after all this, there’s only one thing I haven’t allowed myself to indulge in . . . Him.Ryan
A welder’s son. I’ve done everything I can to make him proud. Hard-working, loyal, strong. I’ve accomplished all his dreams while denying my own. But there was only one thing I’ve ever wanted . . . Him.
Review: I decided to check this one out since I liked the author’s Hostile so much and I was not disappointed. I thought it was a sweet story. This was this author’s first foray into the m/m genre, but not her first book.
Grady & Ryan, also known as Bell & Bailey met when they were eleven years old. They were best of friends until the night of their graduation. Ryan has been in love with Grady for years, but Grady is sadly straight. The night of their graduation, alcohol loosens Grady’s inhibitions a little too much. Grady’s kiss sends Ryan in a tailspin and he essentially disappears because he can’t handle the rejection when Grady sobers.
Ryan goes on to become a major league baseball player while Grady is a famous rock star. Ten years go by before they reconnect, much to Ryan’s dismay. He doesn’t want anything to do with Grady, at first. But Grady is still the same man that Ryan has always loved, and eventually his heart wins out. When Grady kisses him this time, Ryan doesn’t let go and the two of them decide to find out what’s truly between them.
They face some challenges along the way, which I’ll let you read about, but it’s nothing that they can’t handle with the help of some good friends they’ve made. I enjoyed this one. It’s a quick read and a good way to spend a few hours.
