Title: Never Have I Evan by DJ Jamison
Author: DJ Jamision
Heat: 3 Flames
Rating: 4 Hearts
Synopsis via GoodReads:
What happens when an ill-advised party game makes it obvious I’ve still got my V-card?
Embarrassment. A lot of embarrassment.
Especially when the sexy, older guy at the party who witnessed the whole thing turns out to be someone I have to see every week. Not to mention my best friend’s cousin.
He’s not only straight, but way out of my league.
It’s going to be so awkward for both us.
Or awesome…if his protective nature and flirty attempts to teach me how to date lead to the kind of tutoring that lives in my fantasies. But how likely is that to happen? I’m not known as the sweet, naïve one among for my friends for nothing.
I’m probably imagining those looks he throws my way. Probably projecting my own want onto his expression.
But…what if I’m not?
Review: This book was cute as hell y’all. I adored it. Sexy Athlete with the Cute Nerd.
It opens in a nowhere town in Nebraska where Evan (the nerd) is attempting to avoid his best friend’s, Calista’s party because he never seems to fit in and just doesn’t enjoy it, but he goes because that’s what friends do. And because all parties have drinking games, Never Have I Ever is played and it comes out that Evan is a virgin. Since he knows most of these people, it’s not terrible, but still embarrassing. However, when he notices the gorgeous guy who overheard the whole thing? He’s mortified.
When a project for the high school requires his talents as a computer programmer, he begins working with said athlete who we learn is Calista’s cousin, Dawson. After imploding his college football career, he has returned home to coach the high school football team. The two work together and learn a lot about each other and themselves in the process.
DJ Jamison is know for sweet, warm and fuzzy stories and this is no exception. Some of it is cheesy, some unbelievable, but in the end it will put a smile on your face if you let it. It’s low angst fluff that will help you pass a few hours.
